Job Purpose:

This position is for a contractor position for the MedTech Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) operations, responsible for:

1.     Identifying, analyzing, and eliminating inventory waste within the RDC, arising from inbound shipment damages and damaged inventory within the operations.

2.     Data analysis, inventory management governance around damaged inventory, and cross-functional coordination across the value chain. Required to drive value through inbound damage reduction, inventory redeployment and inventory salvage workstreams.

This position reports directly to the Operations Director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inbound Damage Reduction

•         Analyse and address causes of damage during inbound transportation and handling.

•         Develop and implement strategies to minimize damage, optimize packaging, and establish quality control protocols to ensure inventory integrity, collaborating with Inbound, Quality, Warehousing and Source teams.

•         Responsible to track and monitor ‘Condition’ error types that contribute towards Perfect Receipt metric measurement.

•         Leverage hub-to-hub meetings with Source DC teams to drive shipping measures improvement, representing the RDC.

•         Provide regular communication updates on trending and insights around inbound, shipment and inventory wastes.

•         Support inbound claims process to ensure minimal credit leakage.

Inventory Process Governance

•         Oversee and enforce inventory management policies around disposition of inbound damaged inventory and scrap process.

•         Maintain consistency and compliance of the SOP workflows, and identify continuous improvements to enhance process efficiency.

•         Responsible to track and monitor Q-cage usage and trends from inbound damaged inventory, while anticipating future needs and risks.

•         Drive Q-cage inventory health and age through robust cross-functional collaboration.

Inventory Salvage Operations

•         Manage the salvage and disposition of damaged inventory, through rework activities performed by the 3PL, in coordination with the RDC operations team.

•         Coordinate recovery efforts, evaluate salvage value, and ensure repurposing of inventory to reduce waste.

•         Work with RDC Operations, Quality and Source DC teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of consumables or rework materials from source, to support rework activities.

•         Lead ‘Backorder support’ initiatives that convert damaged inventory to sellable inventory through market acceptance disposition route.

•         Drive digitization in coordination activities and information flow through workflow platforms or citizen developer tools.

Engagements

•         Active contributor in key performance management and collaboration forums

•         Linking with internal stakeholders (Operations, Quality, Franchise/Regional Planning, Finance, etc) and manage external stakeholders (3PLs, Freight forwarders, etc..) across the organization.

•         Point lead in managing oversight of key damages trending and actions

•         Initiate, analyse, summarize and drive improvement action plans from inventory waste lens.

Qualification:

•         Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or supply chain.

•         Minimum 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management.

Experience and functional competencies:

•         Strong business acumen and general understanding of the end-to-end supply chain.

•         Ability to work with local site teams and senior leadership.

•         Proven ability to work effectively in a highly complex & dynamic environment.

•         Results oriented and able to independently create and deliver.

•         Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and data visualization tools.

•         Experienced in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

•         LEAN Green Belt preferred.
